Training

We are now in our winter phase of training. This has been divided into segments of technique, endurance/strength, and speed.  All of our sessions are led by BTF qualified coaches. See below for details or our facebook page for costs:

Swim:

Club swim sessions take place at Malvern St James College on Friday evenings at 7:15pm.

Our swim sessions are open to novice swimmers as well as seasoned racers. As long as you can swim a length of front crawl you can join in. Sessions will be split according to your ability and training goals on the day. Whether you are looking to improve your fitness, technique, or both, we can accommodate your needs and help you make progress. Sessions are run by ex-competitive swimmer and L2 Triathlon Coach Stewart Whitehead.

We have fins, hand paddles, ankle straps and Finis Tempo trainers for you to use during the session.

The pool maximum is 25, so please make sure you use the Facebook event for each session to let us know you are coming and help us keep an eye on numbers. £3 members, £6 non-members.

Members are also invited to join Milestone Swimming Club for term-time swimming (Wednesdays at 19:00, Sundays at 18:30. £6 per session). Experienced ASA Swim Coach Sarah Williams can also help non-swimmers learn to swim.

Indoor Training:

Our indoor core training and turbo session is held on Monday at the Dome, part of the MSJ complex.

Bike:

Our BTF ride leader, Roger, hosts a social club ride on Saturday mornings at 9am, location confirmed each week on Facebook . Everyone welcome, you don’t need to be a member. It will always be suitable for all levels, and will be at the pace of the slowest rider. A nice opportunity to build up your confidence on the bike, catch up with friends and get some miles in. Always check Facebook for details of the week’s ride – Roger will post his plans in the days before. Please make sure you have lights for dull winter days, and it is always a good idea to carry a spare inner tube or repair kit.

The club is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials, which means that club members are eligible to enter Open Time Trials locally and nationally. More details before the start of the season.
